About us
Having lived in Iceland our wholes lives means we are used to breathing the fresh air of the mountains, standing out in the pouring rain for hours on end and treading carefully across lava fields. We have long since given up on perfect hairdos and accepted the honest beauty of windswept hair and messy looks.
We couldn’t for the life of us guess who designed your wedding dress but we can tell you it’s going to rain in 10 minutes.
We have been shooting weddings for years and doing photography for even longer. All this experience has taught us to appreciate the beauty of simplicity. Wedding photography to us in it’s simplest form is about human connection. Getting to know people and capture this brief but significant moment in their lives for them and their loved ones to remember for years to come. To let the honest, true life moments, emotions and conditions shine through rather than fancy techniques, elaborate posing or stylised settings.

the Unpredictability of the north
We have become experts at documenting adventurous lovers battling the harsh elements in Iceland. Instead of wishing for more good weather we’ve come to love the bad weather and try to use it to our advantage. The rain, wind, fog and snow all bring with them their own sense of adventure to the images. These uncomfortable elements strip people of the mask they tend to put up and instead make them more real and raw. So if you suffer through the cold and believe that the messy hair and the dirty dress are just necessary battle scars you can brag about later, we can create wedding images that are unique. FAQ
Where are you based?
We live in Reykjavík, Iceland. Heiðdís grew up in the city but Styrmir moved around a lot as a kid mostly living in the country side of Iceland. We do however travel all over Iceland for shoots and sometimes even venture out of the country for work.
How many images are included and when can we expect them?
The number of images varies depending on which package is chosen. An estimated number is included for each package in our price catalog. We do however never withhold any good images that add to the story so we don’t want to limit our selves to a set number. Our turnaround time is 4-8 weeks, depending on our schedule.
Do you charge a deposit?
Yes, we do charge a deposit to secure a date for your shoot or wedding. It’s payable at the time of booking and is non-refundable. (During these pandemic times we are living at the moment, the deposit can be transferred to a new date if it’s due to reasons caused by the pandemic, such as travel restrictions.)
How does payment work?
All payments are made through a secure site online with a credit card. We will send you a link where you only have to fill out your basic information and credit card details. Super easy.
Do you help with the planning process?
If you need someone to plan your whole wedding we can recommend some awesome local wedding planners. However if you simply need answers to specific questions, help with the timeline, recommendations for hair, make up, florals etc. we are happy to help. We have also become experts when it comes to locations for weddings & photoshoots and can help you navigate the epic landscapes Iceland has to offer.
What if there is bad weather?
We encourage our couples to embrace what ever weather Iceland throws at them during our time together. It’s one of the biggest factors when it comes to the mood of the images we deliver. Bad weather doesn’t mean bad photos. All the elements bring with them characteristics that can enhance and elevate your experience and the images. Having said all that, if the forecast predicts weather that means we are going to have a shitty time or can even be life threatening (yes that happens, specially during the winter months) we can usually reschedule to a consecutive day.
What if you can’t make it to our wedding?
This has never happened in our years as professional wedding photographers. But if something were to happen that would be out of our control and resulting in neither of us being able to show up we would do everything in our power to help you find a replacement photographer with a similar style. We are well connected in the business and have a lot of very talented friends.
