The September day that Joey & Jordan got married on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula was the definition of moody. Low hanging clouds, random gusts of wind and the promise of rain hung in the air all morning. But if you ask us, this is the perfect mood for a day on the peninsula, it just doesn't feel quite right in bright sun and blue skies. This is the weather that draws out all the drama form the mystical landscapes.
November in Iceland is the month where winter sets in. The air is chill, the ground is frozen and the days become shorter. On this particular November morning the low hanging winter sun illuminated the snow caped mountains, glittered on the frozen grass and added a splash of colour to the frozen, still landscapes on the Snæfellesnes Peninsula. The silence was only broken by the occasional croak of the ravens.
So where to begin with this fairytale in the West fjords…? It seems that every time we visit that magical corner of Iceland the greater the adventures we experience. And this time around it wasn’t the weather or the dramatic landscapes that where the main instigator of the story, although they did a great job of setting the scene.
