Iceland Wedding Photographer // Belinda & Terry

We shot this intimate little wedding more then a year ago on a stormy day in West Iceland. We have visited and photographed this area countless times in the past few years but it never gets old or boring. One of the biggest reasons is the one element that makes everything in Iceland so interesting, the weather. It’s ever changing and with every change it transforms the whole landscape, the colors, textures and the whole mood of a place. It also has a big psychological effect on us, the humans in the landscape, we get very different emotions when we have the warm sun on our face or when we have to embrace a storm.

We learned a long time ago that there is no use in getting annoyed by the weather you just have to embrace what ever the weather gods throw your way and work with it. And that brings us back to Belinda and Terry. They embraced all the weather they got on their wedding day and they got it all. From gale force winds and rain up in the mountains to pockets of calm down by the ocean. And by doing so the weather added a whole new element to their images and their story. These images feel a lot more like life itself with all it’s ups and downs then sun and blue skies would have.
