We wanted to share this emotional vow renewal a long time ago but somehow life got in way of that until now. Beau and Erica came all the way to Iceland after years of marriage and a few kids, from Ohio to renew their vows under a waterfall in gale force winds. Iceland in the fall has some of the prettiest weather but also some of the craziest so there is no way of knowing what you are going to get. And it just so happened that the day of the vow renewal the southeast wind decided it was in quite a hurry and brought a storm with it to the south coast of Iceland. Beau and Erica being troopers decided to go ahead with their plans and together we braved the storm.
This shoot reaffirmed our belief that with the right attitude, the right knowledge and a bit of willingness to suffer for the art, bad weather can yield great results. The dramatic landscapes become even more dramatic, the emotions and connections between people also become stronger and more apparent and you have one hell of a story to tell your grandkids one day… The day you ran around Iceland during a storm.
